Alys Harrison McKey was born in Indiana. She took up flying in Los Angeles in the fall of 1912 and later became a member of the Early Birds. She married John Milton Bryant in May 1913. She and her husband became popular flyers in the Northwest until his death from a fall on August 6, 1913. Alys continued to fly and set an altitude record for U.S. women pilots.
